Biography

Louis Ulrich is a trained sociologist with vast experience leading development projects in Central and Western African countries, as well as a history of working and teaching in the human rights field in Europe with a focus on migration. His experience includes several roles with the International Partnership for Human Development (IPHD), Inc. in USDA food and education projects between 2012 and 2017. Before that time, he has spent 4 years as National Manager of the International Organization for Migration’s Bucharest Office and held various roles with the Soros Foundation/Open Society Foundation in Romania focusing on the organisation’s human rights programmes. Louis has a vast experience in relation to trafficking in human beings, forced labour and abuse, and has participated in drafting national policy documents related to anti-trafficking and human rights. His academic teaching activity has included various positions at the University of Bucharest’s Sociology Department as well as tutoring at the University of Lancaster, UK, Department of Applied Social Sciences.
