Biography

Ioana Popa has 19 years of experience in the defense and promotion of human rights, equality, social justice and human dignity, with a constant focus on the coordination of communication efforts, data collection and impact assessment. In recent years, she has worked as a researcher on a multinational research mission coordinated by the Center for Reproductive Rights to understand the barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive health services faced by women fleeing conflict in Ukraine, as an evaluator working on both formative continuous evaluation processes and summative evaluations, and as a communications expert in one of Romania’s oldest human rights NGOs advocating for freedom of expression, responsible public discourse based on facts and focused on social justice. Ioana is now pursuing a BA in Psychology and is working on her thesis “Mental Wellbeing in Non-Governmental Organizations and the Relation to Compassion and Self-Compassion”.
